Public meetings on the controversial Cresheim Trail proposal will be held next week in Glenside and Springfield Township.
The Glenside meeting will be held 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 24 at Memorial Hall, Waverly Road and Keswick Avenue.
The meeting in Springfield is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 26 at the township high school, 1801 E. Paper Mill Road, Erdenheim.
The meetings are intended both to educate residents about the proposed trail route and to solicit their comment, which will be incorporated into a feasibility study for the project.
The trail idea, which supporters hope will link Chestnut Hill with Montgomery County's Green Ribbon Trail, has generated determined opposition from residents of Laverock and Flourtown, who say they are concerned about privacy with people biking and walking past their back yards.
